Cercospora needle blight

Symptoms

In late summer the older, inner and lower foliage turns reddish-brown and dies, spreading from the base of the shoot outward and upward; sparse tiny dark fruiting bodies form on killed needles. Young, nursery and sheared trees are the worst affected.
